Mr Trump said the US would cooperate with China to develop a successful vaccine.
"We're willing to work with anyone," Mr Trump said at a White House briefing. A coronavirus vaccine developed by a Chinese company is reportedly showing promising early test results and has joined the global race to develop the first effective pandemic vaccine.
Mr Trump said a successful one would soon be available.
"The vaccines are coming, and they're coming a lot sooner than anybody thought possible."
