Often company directors give indications of when they hope to have more news (a possible signing perhaps), and I am sure it is the same in this case. It is then up to the public to use this information as they wish. There are plenty of threads on HC where disgruntled shareholders are complaining that information has not been delivered as expected.
Not sure how insider trading can be construed from this.
Whilst it was nice to see the SP rise today, it is clear that players were using the fever in the market to make a few dollars and in their own actions generated an announcement. It is unfortunate for those who got swept up in all the madness and lost.
