My view is we get a strong rally today, as you don't want to be short Mins going into Easter.
Easter is often the time where big value adding deals get negotiated and or announced just after Easter.
In my old days managing a lot of HF money i always hated being short going into Easter. My pet hate.
I'm interested in what others thinks?
I didn't mind being short at Xmas/new year, as often you get a run up that is valuation unrelated, and people are genuinely on holidays then. The deals typically get announced just before Xmas day, as the bankers want to book the fees before the end of the calendar year, to get the bigger bonus payment.
But with Easter, you quite often get the bankers working full steam over the period, and announcing the deals just when you come back from the break.
My rule no 7 is Don't be short at Easter!
