Clearly 71% of voters (according to news poll) want the boats stopped.
Whether this rushed and expensive policy of Rudd's is sensible remains to be seen. The coalition have been consistent with their border policy - unlike labor who seem to lurch from one extreme to the other - and their history of managing anything is unnerving to say the least.
