How ironic. The govt doesnt like TLS saying that they need a rate of return so they turn away from dealing with TLS.
The govt then cook up this 43 bill proposal on the basis that they will flog it off to investors... who you guessed it- will expect ... wait for it.... A RATE OF RETURN!
Hey Fatsoh- what you and I are prepared to spend is not really the point- its where the average household is prepared to pay that counts. Without the vast majority of household paying for access, this just doesnt work.
On the other hand the govt takes the nation building argument- then surely as a nation we should have been consulted at the election about this. These sorts of expenditures as a % of GDP cannot be taken lightly, and we ned to weigh up the other options. Water being the obvious one that needs to be addressed.
