Number of people are putting their houses on the market and if it sells at the price, or close to what they want - well and good - if not keep trying in the hope the market lifts. Some of the biggest culprits in driving the market down - are guess who? Your friendly real estate agent - they often don't want to work for the money - so now the ploy is undervalue it - tell the vendor that if you have a high price you help others sell theirs. They are actively driving prices down to generate sales. By the way that is a first hand observation and not a value judgement as to whether its good or bad. They are not working for the vendor but for themselves - in Perth anyway!
