Lithium has been in development for decades.
I had my first crappy lithium batteries in the late 90’s.
it takes a long time for new technologies to become main stream.
There are endless ways to store power, they all have there advantages and disadvantages in different applications.
For a new compact solution to store energy to have any effect on the demand for lithium for the next decade or so, it would need to be we past the test bench stage by now.
I’m guessing the science community are always searching for the next solution.
