The usual suspects said Lilac's IX-DLE has not, and will never work at scale.... NOT SO. The Gen4 IX beads now cut the capital cost of the IX system for most brines almost 50% thanks to higher IX module throughput, leading to a lower IX module count. Only 4 modules (made up of a number of IX vessels) required to produce 25kTpa from a 250mg/L brine. The size of the vessels in the Kachi Demonstration plant were one third of the commercial size. That was the only component needing to be upscaled in the commercial plant.....and that was using Gen2 beads! The scalability aspect has become even less significant with Gen4 beads.
