I agree. Any of those interpretations could be correct. There is also another possible reason though why some stocks have persistent late afternoon selling which results in a close below VWAP. That is investors and traders, seeing the stock continuing in a downtrend, finally give up and decide to bail out towards the end of the day to prevent any further losses and that being the case they don't want to even risk holding it once more overnight for fear of what the Dow might do. Now that may or may not be a wise decision.
