Greenrock freely admit the holes were drilled by BHP to test for mineralisation, and that GRK were only able to measure them when BHP had completed their operations, and had no more use for the wells.
BHP will be courting many solutions to their upcoming increased power needs, so of course let a little company like GRK look down their old holes. This means nothing with regards to who they award the tender to. If GDY can demonstrate reliably that transmission costs to O.D would be in the region of $10/MWh (inclusive of initial infrastructure costs), then the situation is not as 'simple' as ohmygod would have you believe. GRK final target temperature is around 200C. Will this be enough to compare to GDY's 270C-300C? We cannot be sure right now, but it would not seem as open-and-shut as "it aint gonna happen".
