No doubt things have changed GB as you know I was talking about this a long time ago when the SP was more than double what it is now.
I wouldn't rule out the SP getting back to double digit, but it will be quite some time.
What I think we will see is gas being decoupled form oil pricing and a more liquid tradable gas market with more futures contracts and in particular an Asian futures market. Gas will take the place of coal & oil in many industrial applications especially power generation. So eventually I can see price separation and a much better outlook for gas long term than oil. This is why I have suggested some time ago that STO sell their crude production assets & concentrate on gas and look at expanding into renewable energy production as well, as its the future without doubt.
