Something like ripple will replace SWIFT. SWIFT = Society of Worldwide Interbank Funds Transfers. SWIFT is an encrypted system which is used by banks and other financial institutions to exchange funds between each other across the globe. The transfer still takes 2-3 days. Ripple can do it in 5-10 minutes. This has value. How much value I'm not sure?
Something like Powerledger enables Peer to Peer transactions in the energy market. This makes sense given we are moving towards buildings that have photovoltaic skins or solar panels that are capable of generating more power than required. Excess power can be stored in vanadium redox flow batteries and overflow can be exchanged with other peers. Powerledger facilitates the exchange of power for cryptocurrency. This will subvert the exorbitant price differential that exists between the power companies and the rate they charge versus the rate they pay a consumer who provides energy back to the grid.
There is a definite place in the world for cryptocurrencies.
