oh well suppose it's not rocket science.. if there's no rule in place to suspend a buyback before annual reporting date the assumption would be that because they haven't bought back any in the last week that directors/broker think the SP is going lower. it's well into the new fin year now.. these companies know there results within a 5 or 6 working days of the EOM.
