you're right, its pointless when Morrison has done so appallingly on China..... anyone, ex. Dutton, with an understanding of international relations and diplomacy would handle the economic relationship and keep it separate to justified criticism of China. as was done by all PMs prior to Abbott.
it isn't about strength anyway but intelligence.... Morrison demonstrates his inabilities on bother these important characteristics.
