don't sell the farm and quarry

Australia is seen as basically as a farm and quarry to overseas investors. This is confirmed when the AUD$ gets pumelled when commodities get smashed.
Australia can't compete with goods being manafactured in asia due to low wages and low taxes.
What we do have is resources.
Why would the Australian government let the farm and quarry
be sold off at fire sale prices?
Answer: because they are dunces
