I was in an online conversation with the person that defined Beehive as a prospect. It’s an interesting prospect and one that is too big not to drill.

I will add that I can see a clear analogy there with Tengiz and the NWS has got a structural similarity to the Russian oil and gas provinces. The inboard sections are oil prone in the NWS, so beehive is interesting. If you look at the Dorado results where oil is down at around 3700m you can see that Beehive could potentially be oil filled though I’d think gas/condo.

like with anything with exploration, it’s one of things where results can exceed, disappoint and sometimes intrigue. No guarantees of success. But to have a potentially world class discovery is something not to play down as it’s rare. There are only a few hundred billion barrels oil discoveries out there mostly held by NOC’s and the majors. Melbana is in a rare position and I think the scale of the discovery is only just being worked out.
