Part of me thinks that the company wanted to get this raise out of the way now to expedite production of the upper sheet, knowing they'd need funds to do this anyway.

Surely net pay assessments and flow testing of the lower sections are the real catalysts to come, as these would prove the elephant size of the discovery and the commerciality of it.

If your goal was to get the SP as high as possible based on this wells results, then wouldn't the price be higher in the long run if allowed to re-rate freely on these catalysts rather than held back with a raise then?

Speculation only of course.
