Unless, of course, the manipulators are also chartists in which case they will manipulate the charts in such a way as to make it look like there is no manipulation going on. In my view, their biggest fear is an uncontrolled breakout. They know that gold must rise; they want a controlled rise - controlled to their timeframe. If they want to cover their track - and provoke comments such as "the charts show that this s a normal market" - then they will make sure their actions look normal.
