Speaking of Political Parties. I am not a joiner by nature, but I had thoughts of joining the KAP. Bob Katter held the launch at Ipswich, which I duly attended.
Bob was his usual straightforward self. When he had finished his speech and the meeting was declared open, reminded me of the problem faced by all minor parties. They attract loonies. First there was a Conspiracy Theorist, who sought to dominate proceedings. Second an assorted collection of people with various axes to grind. Lastly, the normal collection of ratbags and assorted nuts, who wanted a soapbox from which to air their differences. No. Airing their differences is what nudists do. All they wanted, was a soapbox from which they could pontificate.
Poor Bob. His work was cut out trying to get them to stuff off. Needless to say; I didn't join. Despite my immense respect for him.
