I attended a meeting with the chief economist of NAB 4 weeks a go and heard of raving reports about our booming economy and how the US market didnt really reflect the australian finance industry. The spin sounded good how we havent been lending like the US has etc etc and that the big 4 were now looking pretty good. I decided to have a go at investing in NAB which was looking ok then I find they have exposure to the US for 800 Million?
I take responsibility for my losses and will be being responsible for not listening to bloody economists/ analysts - good lesson albeit an expensive one.
