dont underestimate the mud weight

Gas shows at PB2 are higher than those at PB1. This result has occurred even though the mud weight was more than when drilling PB1.

Many people will have sold today for many reasons but many of them will have been ignorant about the significance of mud weight.

There is an entire sub industry of oil and gas and whole seperate science behind "underbalanced drilling" which means drilling with less mud weight than normal so that present hydrocarbons are not pushed back into the hole and so any discovery missed.

Massive fields have been missed in the past only to be discovered second time around when drilled "underbalanced". Hess Nam Phong field in Thailand is an excellent example of this..Exxon missed it fiorst time round then Thailands biggest onshore gas feild was discovered several years later when "underbalanced" drilling techniques were used.

The mud weight statement is no excuse in this update..it is a critical issue..dont underestimate it.
