sheeesh - a bit close to the bone Richie!
What you are saying in short is that you and your wife have placed your trust and future in Alan Shortall or more appropriately Alan's words and commitments.
Have either of you tried skydiving or bull fighting?
Like all of us I hope you'll prosper. My story is similar, but in essence I have held for several years, lightening off as Alan missed milestone after milestone - although at that time many posters here called him the Messiah. (unfortunately some of them have turned and have become atheists.)
Nevertheless I continued to derisk and let the 30's bypass without buying. After the last quarterly (despite my previous concerns about Alan and his promises) I felt that purchasing at 60 with a major contract to be signed in a couple of weeks was much less risky than no news and 30c.
What has happened since, beggars belief. I don't think I can recall a CEO announcing something major with a timeline and then admitting that he had no control over when it happened. I still believe it will but you have to understand the pain I feel as the shorters dance on our graves!
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to tell my story Richie - I'm sure we all have one like yours. A company capitalised at around $300 million and a massive cash burn requires tight steering - at the moment we seem to be rudderless and completely in the hands of one or more major pharmas.
Yes, I'm angry and frustrated but I'm sure all will be forgiven if the promises come to fruition.
For a company that can produce safe and painless injections - they certainly haven't delivered a safe and painless investment!!!!
