Looks like GTE's soil sampling is about to cover the part of ground which borders Proto's turf. This is from the quarterly released today:
Regional soil sampling on an 800m x 800m grid continued throughout the quarter and is still ongoing. The survey will result in coverage of at least 800m x 800m spaced samples along the eastern half of the project all the way to the northern boundary which will complete first pass broad infill coverage of the extensive eastern GSWA regional copper geochemical anomalies. The eastern GSWA regional geochemical anomalies within the project area have not been subject to any follow-up work historically or by the company and it is planned that the 800m x 800m soil sampling programme will be extended over these anomalies once the current programme is completed.
The type of mineralisation that the company is targeting is the result of hot fluids dissolving metal out rocks at depth and ascending through the rock mass, mainly via faults, and precipitating massive sulphide mineralisation into trap sites higher up in stratigraphy. In an attempt to map out these faults and the basement geology the company is halfway through a large gravity survey that will cover the entire project area of 1,750 square km. It is estimated the survey will be completed in two to three weeks time and infill work may extend the program.
