I thought actually that Gunns had a LOT of assets, such as owning the K&D warehouses, selling timber direct, etc. Plus some people like myself believe they were always a little bit in bed with the government. hint, Alan Gray (former Premier). which did/could result at times with a helping hand from government in the works, helping push things forward that needed the help
Hope this isn't going to be moderated for speculation here, and I'm happy to be corrected if I was hugely incorrect in any of this.
When it went belly up and all my shares disappeared I was rather lucky.
I'd already made enough profits that I came out even in the end
