I found this comment interesting especially in the context of how long the final agreement is taking.
"The Chinese use negotiations as a way to build relationships over long extended periods of time.
The signing of a contract in China signifies the beginning of a long term relationship with the Chinese. The Chinese believe that their customs are far more important than any written piece of paper. A contract starts a long-term commitment and they assume that it will be revisited every now and then (Zhang, 2008)."
