look its also about how during this covid shit storm there was so much anxiety about having medications and masks and whatever, that customs regulations got very relaxed - so if before the counterfeiting industry was estimated at what? 600B$ yearly - personally I think its more - its probably doubled... my dad works in a car garage and he says that every year the number of cars coming after accidents or just unnecessarily misfunctioning, have counterfeited parts from different garages, and that they are having huge difficulty authenticating the parts they buy, and everyone sort of live with it although it costs a lot both to consumers and insurance companies...
