In response to Profess's car crash analogy, the true "victims" of this calamity, if there are any, are the FORMER shareholders of CHM before it went into receivership. I dare say the current shareholders (i.e. people like you) did not own the shares back in 2003/2004.
IF the current CHM does win anything by some miracle, the former shareholders would be the ones entitled to the victory, and therefore there will be an expensive class action against the company to return the funds to them. Therefore, as I see it, even if you win (unlikely), you will probably have to give it back.
As you say, the current MMX management are responsible for the "sins" of their former management, and current CHM shareholders have a responsibility to former shareholders!
