Maybe directors shares were loaned to shorters on the way down at say 50c (when the copper price tanked)? Now that Cu sentiment is improving and Directors have locked in super cheap options, the shorters now cover and so long as they cover under 50c they win.
Will be interesting to look at short positions changing in coming days.
