I refer not only to this forum but to other media as well.

There seems to be an argument being run in many media that the PM should not be subject to satire. To do so agaist a woman is called sexist but its ok against a man. This double standard is itself sexist. I hope the hotcopper mods don't fall for it.

As for the line that the PM deserves to be shown respect this is the height of hypocricy from the Howard Haters.

I suspect this argument for respect for the PM is a co ordinated line because;

a) Ms Gillard won't be able to stand the personal attacks Mr Howard was subject to.

b)Ms Gillard needs some gravitas to be granted to counteract her accent, looks, lack of training and lack of the traditional decorum expected of our first couple. (In the venacular she may be seen as a bogan)
