If Abbott opposes the levy in parliament and knocks it back through the Senate vote then he will be denying Queenslanders the help they deserve.

Eagle, that is your assumption only. I am not aware that Abbott has actually stated your assumptions. If he has, can you please provide a source?
Abbott obviously believes that with a healthy annual revenue and some good money management the federal government should be able to finace this quite easily without forcing it from the people.
Abbott's alternative to help queenslanders sounds like a much better plan to me.
