The reality, and expensiveness, of running an International business, in a crowded and always difficult industry sector, is now clearly apparent.

NET is in a chaotic industry sector. Every major player is suffering.

The Cyber market is just brutal right now. Solar Winds was\is, a buttoned up engineering outfit, experienced, well capitalized, loved by it's customers for the quality of it's products, just destroyed itself, the liability may bankrupt them.

Currently, the strong indication is that the Solar Winds Hack was accomplished by inserting a properly code signed\marked program element, by a Sub Contractor, who Contracted the task, to a Compromised Sub Contracting Source.

If true, it is a criminal violation of the Developer Agreement, but an almost impossible, certainly very expensive to catch, coding problem.

This outlines the problems, and onboarding caution, by potential clients, when confronted with Software written by Foreign parties.

Adding fuel to this fire, the Pandemic has changed the Enterprise purchasing focus, while at the same time causing the Work at Home model to be riven with unexpected attack vectors and back door possibilities.

The company has to raise new capital, it may have to reinvent itself entirely, the cost and liability to market a "Network Security Element, on the Edge or in the Stack, may be to high for a company with this type of Corporate Finance profile.

This is not an excuse for the company or it's claims, this is the Reality of the Market.

If they can successfully inject into Solar Winds Production code, They can do almost anything.
