GZ Will they turn these hoarded commodities into more worthless unneeded 'stuff' or will they actually use them to build production capacity that serves needs. China it seems may struggle to turn out things people really need because outside of food and energy (which they are net importers of) the list is not terribly long. There is no shortage of second hand stuff out there atm and these inventories will hang around for a while potentially.
pug we know they want to expand but you can only do that with resources and for China that is going to cost because they need to buy them from lucky countries like Australia. Agree we will start to see Chinese investment in the agriculture sector.
All this assuming business as usual but quite clearly with the Rio incident, China is well aware that those betting on a recovery in China are effectively betting against China's interests.
