Austraila is in a extreamly bad position. Many young people have purchased property thinking it will go up, they are receiving 2%PA on thier properties, but paying out 7%. Property prices are not going up anymore, people may just be able to cover it now, but when the economies start ticking up and interest rates go up to around the 14%ish level like they do in every upturn we have ever had, its all going to fall through. We just have to hope that the majority of young people have other assets they can sell to cover their losses
