You see its not that the US does not have enough oil, they have massive amounts of oil, the problem is with the grade of oil.
The refineries are setup to process light sweet crude oil, however as the age of the oil wells grow older the grade of this oil is falling, so the simply can not process it effectively.
You can supply trillions of barrels of oil to the US and it won't change anything, the problem is with the refineries, not the supply
