Dow down 232 points-has the final shoe dropped?, page-10

BHP Telstra Newcorp Index My feeling are Acouch that the downtrend is primarily Newscorp at 11.28c and Telstra that make up a large part of the index----with the index as you know being just a basket of stocks and not really reflective of what is really happening.
You'd expect Newscorp to rise now>>>Telstra perhaps rise (bearishly so)---but if that did not occur and Newscorp and Telstra were to go down---that would only make them better value to buy>>>hence the index (which they form such a large part of) would go up.
(BHP play a part in this too)
My thoughts for what they are worth,
