DGcruzing, long time no speak....we haven't been on the same thread for a while. And thanks for those knind words...yes I have been hard at it. I have used a little cyclical analysis as well as price analysis....this bear seems to be part of a roughly 17 year cycle. 1906,1919,1937,1955,1972,1990 and 2007 seem to be related. 1955 and 1990 were relatively mild but then again they ocurred in the context of a longer term bull. all the other saw the DOW fall by 45 to 50%.....the 2002 support neatly ties in with that theory. also note beside the 1929 89% crash there has only been one other crash of greater than 45%

anyway, here's hoping I am right and this isn't another 1929 event.

in rounded numbers 50% was 10750 and yes 9900 is 61.8%
