the ASX is at worst completely immoral or at best unbelievably ignorant of what is happening. They will simply claim that they are emasculated and therefore sheepisly consider regulatory protection. For it to allow stocks to be shorted with the very same stocks that we own is beyond belief.
Soon as the figures re super fund returns start to be released there will be a tightening of these laws. Until then, which will be another 6 months of enquiries etc, we will be at the mercies of hedge funds who will rape and pillage certain sectors at will.
