1236 [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Merrill Lynch cuts Minara Resources (MRE.AU) to Underperform from Buy after cutting earnings estimates due to lower nickel prices, higher AUD, and increasing sulphur costs - and that is before Minara's latest production guidance cut following Varanus Island gas explosion. Merrill cuts FY08 profit forecast by 33.6% to A$187 million, FY09 by 45.6% to A$179 million and FY10 by 80% to A$50 million. Targets stock at A$3.00, MRE last quoted down 5.7% at A$3.64. (LMF)
