however, purely as a technical matter, the DOW is unable to drop 1000 points in a session - this is not '87.

the DOW may decline 1000 points over time, insofar as much is possible. it is however not probable and a chartist such as yourself should be well aware that a statistician will back a probability over a possibility at every opportunity.

i know that bears exist, but given the fact that markets have historically risen over time and not declined over time, i tend to wonder why they bother.
