dow up yet all markets rattled by bank worries

Everthing was 'down' last night, apart from the DOW. Even the S&P and Nasdaq wee down. Yet for some reason the DOW was up? Is there something going on that we don't know about. There is absolutely no reason for the dow to finish green last night. I'm starting to doubt or trust what the is going on in the Dow. I wonder if certain banks were called upon to send the DOW green, to try and encourage investor confidence following the JP deal (bear @ $2 a share) or the FED cut????? Conspiracy, or am I just overreacting. It doesn't add up. Is this part of the master plan to push the dow further up after the FED cut. Hopefully the economic data, qrtly reports from Lehman, Sachs etc...will give leading evidence that the US is in a recession....
