I didn't suggest it explains the rally to $2.75.
But it does explain the drop from $2.75 to $2.6. People taking the opportunity to sell shares at more than the option price. will tend to push the price down. The fact it didn't go below $2.6 means that there hasn't been enough profit for the sellers to justify them accepting a lower price.
Prices can't be pushed down further than sellers are willing to go.
