if new housing contracts it will make the more cheaper/competitve builders drop their prices

so another year or two goes by with falling prices
eventually it will be reported that we have a 15% drop from the peak perhaps reinforcing in the mind of buyers to wait just a little bit more

escpecially if you are in canberra, the federal election should free up some houses
