When all the exclamations are that a sector is rooted and a poor investment it is usually the time to look for selected buying opportunities.
The contined rise in oil prices is likely to harm economic growth so the sector likely to be in real trouble is minerals which will suffer reduced demand (lower prices) and high cost inflation as their highest cost element is oil based (energy and fuel). Their second highest cost is tyres which is also an oil derivative.
So selling miners is the way to go.
