I think the party is well & truly over now for WHC, as much as many of you do not wish to believe. 6-12 months from now their cash pile will be diminished. management will burn through it in new ways (such as buying back heaps of stock $7-10 or next trick buying BHP mines). coal price will retreat from still elevated high levels then all of a sudden you have no strong balance sheet, low or no profits (zero dividends). one thing that will remain is the poor management.
everyone will look back and say why where we sucked into a cyclical commodity stock at the peak of the cycle ?
don't want to agree with me ? fine. have a look back after peak in 2010 & again in 2018. all caused by retreating coal price.
still don't think this can happen again ? thermal coal is now down nearly 70% from peak last year. still at levels where WHC makes good money. what happens if coal goes under $100 ?
many of you will not believe coal < $100 is possible. this time last year everyone believed coal at $400 was permanent.
