Today about an hour ago -The International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Net Zero says the world should add “no new oil and gas fields … and no new coal mines or mine extensions if it is to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 in the energy sector.
Importantly for Australia, its net Zero by 2050 energy sector roadmap released on Tuesday makes it clear that there is no ‘gaslit recovery’ in a net zero emissions world: Unabated coal use plunges 90% to just 1% of total energy use globally by 2050. Fossil gas demand declines by 55% whilst oil slumps 75%
Which means renewables for energy generation, batteries for storage....
Nickel. Cobalt. Magnesium. Gold. Copper. PGE.
The world is going to need a lot of these & will need to ramp production quickly. Any company already permited & with operational facilities will certainly have a head start.
