Based on the abstract we can summise that since overexpression of FTO downregulates apoptosis (programmed cell death / cellular suicide) in adipocytes, inhibition of FTO may do the opposite and as such increase apoptosis. This is consistent with the City of Hope data that showed FTO overexpression inhibited apoptosis in AML cells (among other things), while inhibition of FTO promotes apoptosis through the modification of genes and then proteins related to apoptotic signalling. If you would like to, I encourage you to take some time to look through google to find cancers that are linked to the JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathways.

Before I had heard of Race, I was quite interested in fasting and fast-mimicking diets for a number of reasons - one of which being the "purging" action of pre-cancerous cells.
