Metformin is a diabetes drug which has been shown to extend lifespan in mice models and is also taken by "life extension enthusiasts".
I think it reduces the amount of sugar the liver produces into the bloodstream, but as a side effect users lose weight and seem to live longer - Could there be an FTO link there?
I really don't know. I'm not medically literate and just thinking out loud lol. Probably way off but may be interesting for you.
Ray Kurzweil is another fascinating character in this area. There is a good documentary on him called "Transcendent man" which is mostly about his singularity predictions (which are rapidly coming true) but also goes into his life extension journey as well.
