Sounds like Dr Doom isn't so sure that the end of the world is coming for Australia after-all. We will certainly get a slow down no doubt about that but the very fact that our fall out is/will be quite a bit after other economies will likely significantly reduce the impact on us as the other economies will have restructured significantly and be in the recovery mode and increasing the demand for our resources.

"He also said Australian stocks were suffering in the eyes of international investors because of the ongoing strength of the Australian dollar, a situation that could raise the "dangerous" temptation to deliberately deflate the currency by printing money."

Actually printing money here in Australia would probably be a good thing as the reality is our dollar has probably risen the most on the back of both the europeans and americans devaluing their dollars - which just hurts us export wise.
