    And I, too am talking about actual cases.
    But I am referring specifically to the second wave during the northern hemisphere winter.


    As for your assertion about the US hitting its third wave, that is, to be blunt, horse manure.

    The US is an awfully big place, remember (similar in area to the entire continent of Europe)

    What is happening in the US is that there are some states where the virus arrived only recently. eg. Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kentucky, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming which is making it look like a third wave in the US.

    So while "third wave" does admittedly make for nice, alarmist headline to suck in certain readers (it worked in your case), in reality there is not a state that is experiencing a third wave of any note.
