It may not be an appropriate time to throw Ira under the bus. I guess a Crucifixion or two right now would feel sort of "righteous," but I suggest we look to the future. If treatment of HD by PBT2 is to be pursued in Europe or elsewhere, Shoulson is an asset. I believe there are other scenarios as well, where he could equally be of value. If the emphasis on HD is suspended/terminated then Ira is indeed expendable. The decisions on "who wears tire marks" should depend on the course of action taken.
I agree with partial remuneration in the form of stock as opposed to cash - but such was not the case. Alas
